Techno-Parks are immensely important in stimulating a culture of science and innovation particularly in developing countries. Governments seeking competitive advantage in industrial innovation, from around the world are taking keen interest in developing these ‘Science and Technology Parks’ or ‘Techno-Parks’. These Parks support an ecosystem of entrepreneurship and innovation, and are a subject of interest for public policy makers around the world, bringing together Industry and Academia. Spill overs from these parks help upgrade service and industrial capacity and bring value to the economy.
In view of the aforementioned, COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT), Islamabad in partnership with Inter-Islamic Network on Science, Technology Parks (INSTP), Iran; OIC Ministerial Committee on Science and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH), Islamabad; ECO-Science Foundation (ECOSF), Islamabad; and, Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST), Islamabad; is organizing a three day International Workshop on “Techno-Parks: Opportunity to Seize a Lever of Competitiveness”, on 30thJan 2018 – 1st Feb 2018 at its Islamabad Campus.
The workshop is expected to attract around 30 highly relevant participants from the Muslim world and in particular Pakistan to learn from experts the fundamental concepts around the area of Technology Parks.
Only selected participants will be invited to participate in the workshop. Workshop Participants will not be provided TA/DA or any other allowance, and will have to make their own arrangements for logistics as well as boarding and lodging.
In order to apply for the workshop, participants are required to route their applications, on the form given in the announcement, through their respective Head of Department/Rector/Vice Chancellor to the undersigned by 15th January, 2018.
